“Ma’am, BEA casualties at the main base are mounting up. Reports are that large amounts of heavy armour and large infantry assets are attacking with artillery barrages in support. BEA forces are preparing to evac.” the mechanical voice of Seraph went through her comms, “Wolf’s orders, running away to fight another day. Patching you through to his comms, Admiral.”
There was static as the channel switched.
“Admiral, I’m organizing a fighting retreat. There’s no way to stem the tide and hold the line. I’ll be waiting for you in Hyrule before leaving for New Eden.” Wolf said, “Need to see my wife and Red…. just finish up what you’re doing as quickly as possible.”
“Verstanden. Sei vorsichtig, Kaiser.”, Yellow responded with concern before closing the channel. She let out a small sigh, before resuming the evacuation effort alongside her comrades.
Unfortunately, with the need to evade Scorpion’s Hand forces, the entire evacuation effort took another 3 days across the continent before the relief group reported that no further civilians specifically willing to leave were found.
It was at this time that Yellow met up by herself with Wolf as he’d asked. The blonde was still clad in her Valkyrie suit, air shimmering in gentle pulses of propulsion as the Fleet Admiral touched down beside him.
“I’m here.” Yellow said gently, a slim hand grasping her collapsed Caduceus staff.
“Danke, Admiral.” Wolf said, “Viel Glück (good luck).”

“Guten Tag…” Wolf said, his voice strained, and his eyes tired. He looked about ready to fall over if it wasn’t for the fact he was leaning against a wall.
“Thank you… I’m gonna take some time off… Fuck, those bastards were fucking persistent…” Wolf groaned, coughing from bit, “I’m gonna go back to my wife… And the Reds… I need to see.. Them…”
He began to limp off, a soldier coming to support him as he walked towards a transport.
“You’re in command, Admiral… You’re the highest ranked person here.” Wolf said from the transport, “I’ll notify the GDI I put you in command of the forces here until my return… I hope you don’t mind staying…”
“Wh-What?!” a startled Yellow gasped. Surely that was a mistake on his part.
It was true that she was the leader of GDI’s Fourth Fleet, but that didn’t translate over into commanding an army like the BEA. Not in its entirety.
Her focus in fleet command extended, at best, to fortified retreats, area control and tactical support. The Fourth Fleet was a force for peace, not war. Besides, it was literally unheard of for the leader of one armed force to appoint another from a different nation to lead it.
“This…this is a mistake…verdammt.” Yellow whispered in frustration as she watched the transport depart. She couldn’t stay, not for now at least. To actually stay for any extended period of time required the presence of an actual GDI military escort, which the relief group deliberately lacked. They were medics, not soldiers.
Looking around, Yellow glided over to one of the BEA officers, a Commander. “Excuse me, Kommandant? Besides me, who else is the highest in ranking authority?”
