“Fifteen years of that, huh?” Tempest murmured. “I get the feeling that might get old. Although it might be nice to have someone looking out for you like that…”
The elder gave her two sisters another light, affectionate squeeze.
“That’s enough for now, Akemi.” She decided.
The AI nodded, closing the holoscreen with an idle swipe of her hand.
A chime sounded from behind the door. Akemi glanced at it for a moment before turning with a smile to the three carriers.
“You have guests, it seems. Hope and Lumi are awaiting your permission to visit.”
Or more specifically, a theory about Thanos and the Infinity Stones. I don’t think that Thanos’s campaign for the stones that we’ve observed over the course of the last six years is the first time he’s tried it. As a matter of fact, I think he has very nearly succeeded in the past, only to be stopped by Odin, and presumably, Hela. My evidence? This lovely little bit from Thor: Ragnarok:
Now, this clip poses us at the very least three questions.
How (and why) is there a model of the Infinity Gauntlet in Odin’s vault?
How (and why) would Hela know it’s fake?
Why is said Infinity Gauntlet an exact replica in all means of size and detail as the one seen being worn and used by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War?
The solution that best answers all of these questions is that Thanos has in fact tried this whole exact scheme of harnessing the Infinity Stones to wipe out half the population of the universe. As a matter of fact, I think the idea is more that possible.
In most continuities of comics, if he isn’t in fact immortal, Thanos is very, VERY old. So, even despite the massive differences between comic Thanos and MCU Thanos, it would at least make sense for MCU Thanos to be ancient as well. Perhaps even as old as Odin. So there’s one thing.
Second, we know that Thanos seems to be exceptionally good at tracking and collecting Infinity Stones. Heck he has the mind stone in his hands right from he get go. It might make sense that he got this good at it from experience. Nearly bringing them all together once before. Before having them slipped from his grasp and once again spread across the galaxy. Or at least he’s good at doing so when he’s doing it himself, and not hiding behind proxies like Loki and Ronan. Speaking of which…
Why would someone as massively capable as Thanos the Mad Titan, feared and dreaded by all, be hiding behind puppets? Because he’s lazy? No, can’t be that. This guy’s spent some ungodly amount of indeterminate time doing nothing but planet hopping and personally murdering half the populations of each. So obviously, the guy’s not the throne potatoe we all like to joke about.
So, maybe he just believed that all this hands on slaughter was more important? No, he’s all too willing to bring an end to the practice to pursue the Infinity Stones once Ronan fails, and he seems to be of the mind set that the quickest, least painful way of culling the universe is the best way. So that really wouldn’t make sense.
That leaves us with a third option, and one I think very likely. He doesn’t want to draw attention to himself. But attention from who might you ask?
The Nova Corps? Obviously not. He annihilated them easily without even a single Infinity Stone.
The Eternals? Not them either. He walked right up to The Collector and merc’d the hell out of him.
What about Celestials, like Ego? Clearly not. Hell, Ego had been planning to wipe out all life anyway, so what’s he care if some purple ego maniac does half the work for him?
That leaves us with only one real presence in the universe to be hiding from. Asgard. The same folks who just so happen to have an exact replica of his handy dandy Infinify Gauntlet locked up in Odin’s vault of super deadly weapons collected from his enemies that should never ever under any circumstances ever be tampered with.
So now that we’ve funneled it down to this, I have one final bit of evidence. The timing of Thanos’s Infinity War. His sudden, massively quick run in which he collects all the Infinity Stones, and finally cuts the universe in two, all within the cours of about a day and a half. If he could do it so quickly, why not do it before? As we mentioned he was probably trying not to draw the attention of Asgard, or in our case now, Asgard’s former leaders, Odin and Hela.
Over the course of Thor: Ragnarok Odin passes away (presumably of natural causes), Hela escapes Hel and breifly takes over Asgard, until both she and Asgard are destroyed by Surtur and the triggering of the Ragnarock. Each of these events correlate with a big move by Thanos. I think it’s very interesting that Thanos innitiates this almost blitzkrieg like plan only after Odin has died.
So putting this all together we come to the following theory:
Some time in the far, far past, Thanos began to collect the Infinity Stones, either collecting them all, or collecting nearly all of them, perhaps save the Soul Stone. He nearly achieves his goal, but seeing the danger posed to all the universe, Asgard rises up against him, led by Odin and Hela. Thanos is defeated, and during the battle the original gauntlet is destroyed (hence how Hela knows the gauntlet in the vault is a fake.) and the stones are once again spread across the cosmos, presumably to forever be kept out of the Mad Titan’s reach. Thanos retreats to deep space. Perhaps these events even trigger the change in Odin’s heart that Hela complains about. Over the course of the next several thousand years, Thanos slowly but surely becomes aware of the locations of the Infinity Stones, save the Soul Stone. First, he finds and takes the Mind Stone, which he later puts in the scepter that he bestowed upon Loki. He’s also probably been well aware of the wareabout of the Space and Reality Stones for this time as well, given their frequent usage as the Tesseract and the Aether. Second, he moves to retake the Space Stone, arming Loki with an army and sending him to Earth to collect it. Note, all this begins once Odin’s health begins to decline in Thor 1. This of course fails, as the Avengers, Tony Stark in particular, thwart Loki and through him Thanos’s plans. He loses both the Space and Mind Stones. Third, he moves to collect the Power Stone, using his puppet Ronan. This is also met with failure as Ronan betrays him and he himself is subsequently defeated by the Gaurdians of the Galaxy who leave the Power Stone with the Nova Corps on Zandar. Thanos has now lost the Power Stone as well, and by this point he is beginning to become pretty seriously peeved. Proclaiming to literally no one but the audience:
However, despite all this talk of “doing it himself”, he still does not act, aside from the obvious attack on Nidavellir that must have taken place by this point. Then finally one day, Odin finally decides he’s had enough of both his sons’ and the world’s bullshit, and peaces out in Norway. Now presumably word reaches Thanos of this, and immediately goes about doing it himself. He heads to Zandar, where he destroys the Nova Corps, and collects the Power Stone. Then, in a move to take out both his biggest threat and collect the Space Stone, he heads for Asgard. However, by the time Sanctuary 2 gets there, Asgard has already been destroyed by Sutur, who’se practically just done Thanos’s work for him and this point. So all he has to do is attack the refugee ship and collect the Stone from Loki, whom Thanos knows covets it and would of course save it from the firey destruction of Ragnarok. Which brings us to the opening scene of Infinity War, and the first in a very long line of very upsetting character deaths.
Anyway, that’s my theory. I know it’s long, clunky, and disorganized so I thank you if you actually read the whole thing. Hope you enjoyed it. Bye!
Lol! I was pondering this myself a while back! Anyway, to add…
Nidavellir fell during Loki’s stint as King of Asgard (the four years between Thor 2, and Ragnarok). Thor mentioned – when he returned to Asgard at the beginning of Thor 3 – that the 9 realms had fallen into chaos. Thanos probably snuck in during that time and had the gauntlet reforged. It’s POSSIBLE that Loki wasn’t just being generally neglectful, but actually LET Thanos use the forge in hopes that he could just quietly hand the Tesseract off to Thanos in exchange for sparing Asgard, but I kinda doubt it. Loki mostly only does things for himself, so that kind of deal doesn’t really fit his mischief pattern. Also I don’t think he ever really plans that far in advance (which is why his schemes blow up in his face a lot).
Like, after The Dark World, he could have gone anywhere he wanted. He can manipulate himself into all sorts of interesting situations, and he clearly enjoys a wretched hive of scum and villainy, so why return to Asgard? Why banish Odin to Earth instead of killing him outright?
Because Loki knows that if Thanos finds out he’s still alive, he’s toast. And he knows (or at least suspects) that the only reason Thanos doesn’t make a big, open move to collect the Infinity Stones is he can’t defeat Odin and the full might of Asgard. Kill Odin, and you open the door to Thanos. So he BANISHES Odin (apparently not realizing his health is declining and being stripped of his powers will kill him sooner than later), and takes his place to make it look like Odin is still around, thus retaining the protection of Asgard. Also he can totes be king and no one will ever know lolololollllllllllolol.
But then, Loki being Loki, he just kind of forgets about Thanos, and that he needed to do more than keep up appearances – he needed to actually protect the realms. Buuuuuuuut he doesn’t.
And then Thor shows up and blows his cover; Odin dies, Hela returns and messes things up EVEN WORSE! It’s no wonder he was 100% okay with being kicked all the way to Sakaar! He’d settled in nicely, figuring he was a safe distance from both Hela and Thanos! At least until Thor shows up and messes things up again. XD
Anyway, Thanos probably had spies in and around the 9 realms. Surtur already knew that something was up with Odin, so it’s possible Thanos also knew Ragnarok had begun, and Asgard would soon be vulnerable. So he sashays in while no one’s watching and gets himself a new infinity gauntlet. Then he pops on over to Zandar to grab the power stone, knowing that by the time he gets back to Asgard, Ragnarok would have come and gone, and he could just pluck the Tesseract from the wreckage.
I kinda doubt that the Tessaract would have been destroyed along with the planet, so probably if Loki hadn’t grabbed it, Thanos wouldn’t have bothered with the Asgardian refugees. Clearly they’d just taken a big population hit, so he didn’t have anything to do there. But, well, we all know how THAT turned out.

You can’t just tell people to ‘get a VPN (Virtual Private Network)’. Buying a VPN is like buying a house. It’s very very important. Having no VPN or having a ‘wrong’ one can seriously damage your life. Especially for Americans because their privacy laws are garbage. I am going to try explain why you should get a VPN but bare with me, I am from Germany and my English is far from perfect.
Let’s start with a simple test. Click this link here: https://whatismyipaddress.com/ It will tell your IP adres, your ISP (internet service provider), and your location. The location might not be very accurate, but then again, it’s just a simple website. Imagine what the government can do!
So basically, everyone can find out where you live. But there is more danger. Your ISP. Your ISP logs your every move online and they are required to keep it in case the government wants access to it (or if a 3rd party wants to buy your data (yikes). They have everything. What websites you visit. How long you stay on a website. What you download. Your search terms. European laws are more subtle on this but if you are from the US you are #@*#&, especially because Trump doesn’t support the open internet. It’s scary but maybe in the future you can’t get a job because the recruiter knows your searched on ‘how to deal with depression’ or anythings else that’s supposed to be private because it’s your f*cking right. Or you get a $100k fine because you pirated a movie 15 years ago. You need a VPN. You’re dumb for not using one. but what does a VPN do?
A VPN encrypts all your data so if it were be intercepted no one can ‘crack the code’ and damage your privacy.
Usually being online goes like this (simplified): Your computer —-> ISP (—–> keeps data —–> sells it)
But with a VPN it goes like: Your computer —–> VPN (encrypts data)—–> ISP (ISP can’t see shit)
Furthermore, a VPN hides your IP address and location by giving you another IP address located in Spain for example (you can often choose from a list and change as many times as you want).
Now that you know why you should get a VPN and what is does it is important to educate yourself because people often choose the wrong VPN. VPN providers are also businesses and have to obey the law. If you choose a VPN provider located in the US then you are throwing your money away because the laws in the US shits on your privacy. If the US gov wants the provider to give all their logs they have to obey. The ISP still can’t see what you are doing online and sell your data but the US gov can interfere with your VPN provider so NEVER CHOOSE A PROVIDER LOCATED IN THE US.
I just wanted to make that very clear so my followers don’t buy false security.
There is still more danger! Who says your VPN provider isn’t selling your data? You need to check their logging policy. Do they keep logs? If yes, what for? For how long do they keep them? Tip: Choose a provider who doesn’t keep logs
More about law The US is part of the Five Eyes program (the worst):
The Five Eyes, often abbreviated as FVEY, is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. These countries are bound by the multilateral UKUSA Agreement, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence (source)
There is also a Nine Eyes (bit better) and Fourteen Eyes Program (better). You don’t want a VPN provider who is located in one the Five Eyes countries. If you had to choose go for a provider located in a country that’s part of the Fourteen Eyes Program or even better, go for a country that isn’t part of any program!
I know this is a shitty explanation and please pardon my english but now it’s time to do your own research. Take your privacy seriously. Maybe WWIII breaks out and you get killed for liking the ‘wrong’ FB-page.
Make sure that your future VPN provider both has green boxes for Privacy Jurisdiction and Privacy Logging.
I recommend ovpn.se and trust.zone. ovpn is located in Sweden so they are part of the 14 Eyes Program and they keep minimal logs. Their business ethics, however, are alright.
Trustzone is located in the Seychelles. No country can interfere and their privacy jurisdiction is the best you can get. The US want your data but needs to get it from Trustzone? The Seychelles will simply give them the finger and wave them goodbye. However, this makes this provider very appealing for people who torrent and criminals because they keep no logs (and that is how it shoud be) Also, there are almost no marketing efforts so this provider is one the cheapest)
Also, often providers such as ExpressVPN are being called ‘The Best’ on websites about VPNs but know that this is just marketing which also makes those provider more expensive (and they too shit on your privacy)
This must be the worst article you have ever read but please, please take your privacy very seriously.
I am also with Trustzone but I think you forgot to explain one of it’s most important features. It protects you when you are using someone else’s Wi-Fi. If you are at Starbucks and you use their Wi-Fi your privacy is at risk. Anyone with ill intentions could steal your information. Especially if you are using an unsecured Wi-Fi hotspot. With a VPN your data gets encrypted so no one can steal it.
Wait, what’s going, on? Did trump destroy internet privacy with a bill or something? Where’s the news? Oh wait, why am I getting visions of Alex Jones and selling water purifiers?
He hasn’t yet but he says he wants to. And if he is serious about it it would be really easy to do. Since all our data is already recorded, as the person above explained.
Trump wants more surveillance of Muslim Americans. This in a country where internet privacy is already close to non-existent.
To all my friends in the US, please read this entire post. Making everyone aware of VPNs is going to be my mission. Your privacy matters. Please reblog this post.
Don’t tell me you just wanted to scroll past this. Stop looking at pictures of cats for a moment, okay? Don’t you realize how important this is? This is dangerous! ‘America, the best FREE country in the world’ my ass.
With this new law your ISP can sell your Internet history which could include passwords, usernames, religion, credit card numbers, race and much more to the highest bidder. So here is what I want you to do.
You are going to read the whole thing and before you think ’this is so important. Let me reblog this real quick and go back to admiring cats again-’ NO! Don’t reblog this. Take action first. Then reblog. Sign up for a free trial! Trust.Zone offers one (here). Yes. It might be difficult to set up a VPN for some people. But is that going to stop you from protecting yourself and your family? 30 minutes. 30 minutes is all that it takes. 5 if you know how to install software. The problem with some of you is that you see ‘difficult’ as something negative. I want you to see difficult differently. I need you to push through this stuff. You are going to protect yourself. There is nothing negative about that.
VPNs are fun and costsaving too! A VPN bypasses geographical restrictions so you can access websites you normally can’t or you could start Netflix’s one month free trial over and over again- forever. And it’s legal! (unless you use it to buy weapons etc.,)
Don’t tell yourself that you are too tired and that you will do this tomorrow. Because that isn’t going to happen and you know it. You have to do this right now. You only have to click on it.
Don’t let this/shit/life just happen to you. Take yourself seriously. Get a VPN.
Privacy is not a privilege, it’s a fundamental human right
Ok sorry that it’s so freaking long and also sorry for the language, but this is extremely important. Please reblog!
Reblogging again bc this is important
I know this is a writing blog but this is important. Get a VPN and protect yourself, my children!
“Akemi!” Tempest jumped. “Yeah, everything’s fine! Um… how much of that conversation did you hear?” She asked bashfully.
The voice had certainly caught her off guard, to say the least.
Well, the three were certainly going to find out the answer to that soon enough. In the recording, Ciel had visibly paled and began to tremble.
“Wh…A-Aegis I can explain…I didn’t mean to…”
Interestingly, the Titan had not a trace of anger or even disappointment on her face at Ciel’s antics. Merely a melancholy look. She raised a hand, upon which Ciel fell silent, the formerly angry dreadnought seemingly terrified.
“Ciel…am I a kitten without its mother, who needs constant care?”
The dreadnought in question struggled to answer for a few moments, apparently hesitant to how she was going to reply to the question. “Ye–wait, no! But…Song, she…I saw her…”
Aegis walked closer, placing a gentle hand on Ciel’s shoulder. “If Song has tried to explain things to you, I can assure you that it’s true. Ciel…you need not stand up for me like this.”
Poor Ciel looked crestfallen, averting her eyes from Aegis’s gaze. “But…she sleeps around. She didn’t try and bed you?”
Aegis nodded. “She does, yes. And she did, but I turned her down. And she respected that.”
Briefly, the Titan turned her head to Song. “By the way, you’re quite the good dancer. Want to play together again sometime?”
The other dreadnought smiled, though she nursed her head a little. “It’d be my pleasure to.”
Satisfied, Aegis gave a nod to her before once again turning her attention to the conflicted, embarrassed Ciel. “I just want one thing from you, Ciel. Apologize to Song, alright? You don’t have to do it now, but that’s all I ask.”
Tempest gave a small smile. While disappointed there would be no more fight, it was completely expected that Aegis would so masterfully resolve the situation.
“It’s definitely not like a Titan would need protecting from anything.” She mused.
“Kinda glad she put Ciel in her place though. Getting involved over someone else like that, it’s a bit weird.”
Let it never be said that Adana lacked for apropos. The youngest carrier idly played with the hem of her outfit’s skirt as she furrowed a brow at Aegis moving out of the screen’s view with Ciel in tow.
“Maybe she idolizes Aegis a whole lot more than we do? You wouldn’t try to speak for someone like that unless you…felt they really meant the world to you.”
Dawn grunted as, on the holoscreen, Song dusted herself off before finding a nearby table to sit down on. “Doesn’t take a transwarp scientist to see that Ciel’s got a hard-on for Aegis. Akemi, what can you tell us about Ciel that’s publicly available?”
The AI crossed her legs as she pushed the holoscreen aside for a moment. “If you refer to her time since manifesting, Ciel, full name Arc-en-Ciel, has been a notable understudy and friend to Aegis for 15 years. Her previous display of emotions notwithstanding, she has consistently been one to espouse unwavering resilience and focus on duty, not unlike Lumi.”
Akemi seemed to search for words before speaking again. “Were I to find an appropriate metaphor, Ciel professes herself as the knight to Aegis’s proverbial lady.”
