Had to include the screen-cap because otherwise I’d have a shit-ton of Trump supporters saying “this isn’t true” in my mentions. This IS true. This IS fucked up. And y’all should be TERRIFIED this is happening in our country.

Thank you @adobsonartworks for sharing. I wouldn’t have believed it either, but here we fucking are.

If anyone else is still dubious about this:

  • here is the link for the Slate article, where the USCIS director is quoted, “What we’re looking at, when you boil it all down, is potentially a few thousand cases” – and this even though there have only been about 300 denaturalization cases since 1990
  • here is further background from The New Yorker: “Historically, denaturalization has been an exceedingly rare occurrence, for good reason: by the time a person is naturalized, she has lived in this country for a number of years and has passed the hurdles of obtaining entry, legal permanent residency, and, finally, citizenship. The conceit of naturalization is that it makes an immigrant not only equal to natural-born citizens but indistinguishable from them. So denaturalization, much like the process of stripping a natural-born American of citizenship, has been an extraordinary procedure reserved for very serious cases, mostly those of war criminals.”
  • and here’s a link a Chicago Tribune article which notes that “2,536 naturalization cases have prompted an in-depth review so far”

Re-reblogging links for the doubtful. They are talking about snatching up Naturalized Citizens and deporting them. This has become a thing to discuss. In THIS country.

So when do things cross the line for most of the undecided, the moderate to start rising up against such injustices?

Is there even a line at all? If there is, I sure am not seeing it, because I’m seeing a lack of action.

Never mind the fact that I’m just a foreign observer. I’m safe. A lot of us aren’t.

You have some power left. Use it.

Vote these parasites out.

There was a moment of silence. Two on one, she was outnumbered. “Okay…” She sighed. “If you say so.”

“I’m, uh… sorry for worrying you…” She added quietly.

With their rooms literally next to each other, it was no time at all before Dawn and Adana crept into Tempest’s quarters.

“Hey, you called, Tempest?” Dawn inquired with a slight grin. Beside her, Adana enjoyed herself with a cup of ice cream, eating a spoonful before smiling softly at her oldest sister.

“Saw Aegis leaving your room a while ago, sis. She’s a really nice person.”

“I thought we could hang out.” Tempest replied, looking up with a hint of a blush. Still not used to being called ‘sis’, but she definitely liked it.

“Can we… can we just chat for a bit?”

“Sure. What sort of stuff do you feel like chatting about?” Dawn said as she accessed the replicator to make a little box of candy.

Adana nodded and continued with her ice cream, simply letting her other sisters do most of the talking. She had a feeling Tempest wanted to talk about something important. What exactly, she didn’t know.

A few doors away, Aegis had inadvertently fallen asleep simply from how comfortable her bed was, the Titan still cuddling up to her bolster.

Tempest took a deep breath.

“I think… I think I like Aegis.” She confessed. “I mean, she’s so awesome, and she’s nice to me, and she’s pretty…”

Tempest quickly shut herself up.

“But like, I like what Hope and Lumi have and I thought that would be cool, but I didn’t expect to have two sisters and now Idon’tknowwhattodo.” She rushed her words, obviously eager to get it off her chest as quick as possible.

Dawn popped a piece of candy into her mouth as she listened along. “Heard from some others that’s not uncommon with how popular Aegis is. She’s not just pretty, she’s beautiful. I say that if you like her in that way, don’t hesitate to tell her.”

She chewed thoughtfully. “I’d even wager that you have a better shot than most, sis. Aegis seemed pretty comfortable being around you. Bet a gummy she finds you special. I know the three of us are really new to this ‘being human’ thing, but I have a feeling you and her will be great.”

Adana had cast her thoughts to other conversations upon Tempest mentioning the two cruiser sisters. “Hope and Lumi…those two cruisers who were beside each other all the time in that class earlier? One of the seniors told me there was a time they weren’t so close with each other. Then Lumi went somewhere, and when she came back, she and Hope made up. They’ve been inseparable ever since.”

The (technically) youngest of the three carriers smiled. “Dawn and I promised Aegis we’d look out for you, sis. We’re family. If you want to be close with us like Hope and Lumi are with each other, I’m fine with that.”

Lost in thought, it took Tempest a few moments to formulate a response.

“… Thanks, sis.” She smiled. “I think… I think I’d like that. I want to be closer with both of you.”

“Maybe I’ll confess to Aegis too. But I bet she gets that all the time.” She mused. “No matter what she says though, I’ll still you have you, right?”

Adana hugged Tempest gently, having set aside her cup of ice cream. Dawn followed suit barely a second later. “Always, sis.”

Of the three, it seemed Adana had the softest side. She clung to Tempest for quite a while, resting her head on her older sister’s shoulder as Dawn did the same on Tempest’s other one.

They remained quiet for a moment or two, but Adana broke the silence with a soft mumble. “This feels nice…”

“Mhmm…” Tempest purred in content agreement. She wrapped one arm around each sister, and her head leaned gently against Adana’s.

“I love this so much…” She sighed happily. “I love both of you.”

Quite a tender moment, all in all. One that ended in time when Adana lifted her head to look at Tempest inquisitively.

“So, Tempest, when you do talk this out with Aegis…what’ll you do first if she says yes?”

Dawn had another grin plastered on her face as she looked at her two siblings and began chuckling. “Oh, this I’ll wanna see.”

“Um… I don’t know.” She answered quickly, blushing. “She’ll probably say no anyway. I just want to get it out of my system.”

“But if she did say yes, I… Maybe bring her back here? Then we could all be together… like a family~” She giggled at the thought.

“With all this strangeness going on these days? Who knows?” Dawn remarked, patting Tempest on the back cheekily.

Adana giggled too at the thought of having Aegis like a part of their family, as a sister-in-law. The most amazing one ever, that is. “Ehehe…ah. Go for it when you get the chance, sis.”

A gentle voice chimed into the conversation. Akemi’s, no doubt about it. “Everything alright here, girls?”

New study projects a stunning drop in 2018 millennial voter turnout in battleground states

  • The 2016 presidential election — and its outcome — may have given plenty of Americans a new sense of urgency when it comes to civics.
  • But a new study projects that 40 million Americans who voted last year will likely not show up at the polls for the 2018 midterms.
  • And that two-thirds of those “drop-off” voters will be millennials, unmarried women and people of color.
  • The report, just out from the Voter Participation Center and Lake Research Partners, “Comparing the Voting Electorate in 2012-2016 and Predicting 2018 Drop-off,” notes that many of those expected not to cast a ballot next year live in key battleground states like Arizona, Nevada, Florida and Ohio. Young people in America, REGISTER TO VOTE AND GET TO THE POLLS NEXT YEAR

THIS MATTERS

YOUR VOTE MATTERS SO MUCH OKAY

Just look at the difference young people getting out and voting made in the UK general election this year…young voters CAN make a POSITIVE DIFFERENCE by getting out and voting

And I know this isn’t a presidential election but it is in some ways EVEN MORE IMPORTANT

Because the president can’t do anything without congress and the senate on his side…but likewise, if the Republicans get a majority it means it will be easier for that disgusting sack of stinking dog-vomit Donald Trump and his party of traitors and criminals to push through the DISGUSTING things they want to try and inflict on the country and its people

Get out and vote democrat next year and keep the Republicans from getting a blank check to try and push through their bigoted, evil bullshit

I’m pretty sure the biggest barrier to young people voting isn’t not caring, it’s not knowing.

Am I registered? Shit, who knows? I’ve moved five times in the last four years. I think I registered, but that was a year ago, did I change districts since then? Where even are the polling places in this town? What are their hours? I know I submitted a registration, but did they get it? I didn’t get a confirmation. Did they lose my form? Am I even eligible? Who knows? Oh well, I’m sure I can always register in the days leading up to the – whoops, there’s a deadline and it’s already gone by.

This is one of those civic skills that you would really think would be taught in high school, and – surprise! – it isn’t.

So here’s how to check which district you’re in and who your rep is.

Here’s how to find out if you’re registered.

Here are the deadlines for when to register.

Here’s how to register, if it turns out you’re not.

Here’s how to find local polling places.

Of course, all of this – in the way of Tumblr, and the internet more generally – will be lost to the vagaries of cyberspace by the time November rolls around. So hey: tag it with “voting reference” and you’ll always be able to find it again.

Boosting because us Millenials are nothing but fueled by spite, and blowing this projection out of the water would be delicious

Reblogging because us Gen Xers grew up in the last shadow of nuclear war and I keep having flashbacks… Please vote. Even just pick the few offices that matter most to you, please stay engaged and let’s make this mess a little bit better.

remember how hard it was for obama to get anything done after the first two years? how congress fought him tooth and nail and anything he DID do was via executive order? this is what we want, what we need to do to trump. he can do whatever tf he wants right now because republicans control everything, the checks and balances are not there to check and balance. PLEASE. midterms are nearly as important as the actual presidential election. vote. we must stop this puffy orange idiot.

Tumblr account terminated

mobandroyalty:

masha-russia:

So this happened to me a few days ago, and I thought maybe sharing my experience could help someone if this happens to them in the future.

I was checking my Tumblr when suddenly I was logged out from it and given the usual Log In page. When I entered the details to access my blog, this appeared:

My heart skipped a bit. I tried to re-enter the details (maybe I got them wrong the first time), but no, the same message about Termination was shown. I typed my blog URL and got the

ominous

:

Same thing with my sideblogs.

So obviously I was very worried. I contacted the Tumblr support but didn’t get an answer for 48 hours, only an automated reply. I already started mentally saying goodbye to my blogs, my posts and all my followers, when finally I recieved their answer:

(In case you can’t see the picture, it says:

Hello,
We’ve restored your account.
Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. We’re sorry that it occurred, and we’ll do our best to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.
You should now be able to log in just fine with your email address and password.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.

My blog was restored and working normally. All my sideblogs were intact , and so were my posts and my followers. The only thing that was lost, is all the conversations by Messages. The people with whom you talked are still there, but all the history of the conversation is gone.

Alright so here is what you should do if this happens to you. Don’t panick like I did Click on the “contact support” link provided in the terminated window. Alternatively, go on Tumblr.com/support

Politely explain your situation – give your blog URL, your mail, tell what happened exactly. I understand that the situation can be upsetting, but the person who will read the message and try to help you isn’t directly responsible for the termination of your blog. And sending an angry message with insults isn’t the best way to get your blog back either.

Wait for the reply of the team. If you feel like it takes too much time (more than few days for example), try to fill the Help/Support form again.

Once the team is in contact with you, keep the polite tone. Normally if your blog didn’t go againt the Tumblr rules and policies, you should getit back like I did.

Voila 🙂

Guys this is important. 2 of my followers and rp partners got their accounts terminated today so be careful
