“Yeah.” Tempest smiled, creating a small stack of her own.

Whatever was on her mind, she was hiding it well. Or maybe there was nothing at all, she seemed happy.

“If it’s okay with all of you, I might stop by my quarters for a while.” She said. “But we can meet up again in say, an hour?”

Aegis nodded. “That’s fine by me.”

That reminded her; she had some updated details to give Tempest’s sisters.

“Right, Dawn and Adana, just need to inform you that thanks to our expansion of the station your quarters have been shifted to be beside Tempest’s.”

The two carriers had smiles on their faces as they processed the news. Adana in particular looked the happiest. “We live near each other. That’s great!”

Yuki’s tour as an Idol had eventually led her to performing on the GDI’s home planet of Eden, reuniting her with her husband. After one of her biggest shows, Yuki came backstage, leaning into Wolf lovingly. The older Lupine kissed the succubus on the top of her head, nuzzling her.

“You did great.” He said to her, having watched her from the backstage. When they pulled away, they kissed.

“Thank you, my love….” She said to him, nuzzling him some more afterwards. Both of them feeling a presence, they looked up to see Red(F).

“I… uh…” Wolf blushed, looking away, “I’ll just… go…”

“Jake, please…” Yuki pouted at him, “Don’t let your shame get the better of you…”

@fleet-admiral-red

Red(F) flashed Yuki a grin. “Great performance there. Maybe we could have a show together sometime.”

To Wolf, her expression changed to a warm one. “How have things been, Wolf? Heard that desync did a number to the flow of time on your end.”

To reassure Wolf, Red(F) placed a soft hand on both his and Yuki’s shoulders.

Wolf looked at Red(F), his gaze softening. If she could see something in his gaze, it was both his conflict on the situation… and something else.

He still loved her.

Even after all that they had been through… his feelings had never faded.

“Yeah…” he said, breaking the eye contact, “Five years. The Bouzac are now a protectorate of the Astridian Empire…”

He wasn’t ashamed of that, that was for sure. His people had decided that in a unanimous vote, the first vote they’d ever had that wasn’t blocked by the nobles corrupted by the blood and iron of the Clan System. Even he had cast a ballot in favor of the decision. What he was ashamed of… was how all that came about. It was his own damn fault, his lack of rulership, that had caused that vote to come into play.

Then Yuki spoke up, dragging him out of his thoughts.

“Oh, thanks, Red.” Yuki said, kissing her cheek, “I’m going to have Jake on there too, doing guitar. I’m going to have ten more shows here on Eden, so don’t be afraid to come join.”

“Maybe. We’ll see.” Red(F) replied, before putting an arm around Yuki’s shoulders. “Excuse me for a bit, Wolf, I want to talk to your wife about something.”

As if to reinforce that statement, Red(F) sidled up to the succubus, pressing her side against hers.

Once she was sure they had some level of privacy, Red(F) faced Yuki a bit more seriously. “I understand if you haven’t heard a thing about this, but have you seen Admiral Yellow anywhere during your tour? She’s been gone a while, and other me’s Admiralty is growing increasingly worried.”

“Okay.” He nodded, “I’ll talk to you in a bit.”

Walking off, he went to go spend time with his daughter. Yuki blushed a bit at Red(F)’s embrace.

“She was… at my very first concert, on Terra Ancora.” Yuki said, “I had a chat with her then. She doesn’t want to to come back… yet. She still has things she needs to do, and she doesn’t need the Admiralty interfering. Can you tell that to other you and his admiralty?”

She smiled at the Admiral, pressing a kiss to her lips.

“Gods, I’ve missed you.” Yuki said, nuzzling Red(F)’s nose, “Wolf has too, but… he’s too ashamed to admit it… He still holds a lot of regret for what has happened… both here and back at our home…”

“I will. At least we’ll know she’s alright.” Red(F) murmured with a nod. Terra Ancora? Upon further reflection, it did seem a good place to hide.

The kiss Yuki gave her brought back many memories, both the affectionate and the sensual. Red(F) listened as Yuki talked, hugging her gently. She had to admit, she’d missed the succubus too.

“Yeah, a lot’s happened. For both our people. But at least we’re changing, right?”

Red(F) pressed a soft kiss of her own to the base of Yuki’s neck, enjoying her scent.

“Mm…” Yuki murmured as Red(F) kissed the base of her neck. Even now, she still remembered the succubus’ most sensitive of weak spots, the one that caused her toes to curl and skin to crawl.

“Mmmm… Red… You can’t just forget about my… Husband…” Yuki moaned, “All three of us… Together… In bed… 30 minutes.”

The succubus turned Red(F) around, moving her to the door she knew Wolf was behind, copping a feel of the Admiral’s glorious chest in the process. Upon opening it, she winked at at Red(F), gently pushed her in, and closed the door. Wolf looked up, his daughter Zelda on his lap, asleep.

“Did Yuki get a little flirty?” He asked, having heard the moans. He smiled down at his daughter, kissing the top of the sleeping girl’s head.

“This little one’s got me wrapped around me wrapped around her thumb.” He said with a smile. It was clear that fatherhood suited Wolf quite a bit – and it had caused him to calm down.

“As flirty as ever.” Red(F) answered, leaning near Wolf’s daughter to stroke her head.

It wasn’t often that Wolf got to see Red(F) being so motherly. Then again, the days of her raising Hana and Shiori in their childhoods was long past by now. Her two beautiful daughters had grown up to be very capable young adults.

“Always having kids, aren’t you?” the Fleet Admiral remarked with a smile as she found a seat near Wolf.

Given Tempest’s usual pride, it might have come as a surprise to learn that she was one of the last ships to signal readiness to the network. In her mind, carriers had the most diverse arsenal. If anyone would fire that weapon, it would most likely be Aegis, but it wasn’t hard to imagine someone like her being next in that line. Just the possibility of it got under her skin.

As one might have expected, Aegis had noticed Tempest’s oddly smaller servings, but resolved to ask her about it later.

It was kind of rude to do so at the table, after all. Especially since Dawn and Adana were still present.

Without further ado, Aegis began eating as well. Fortunately for her taste buds, every dish she’d ordered for herself was different.

It was only after her sixth plate had been eaten clean that Aegis noticed Tempest and her sisters trying not to stare at how much the Titan had eaten, and still had yet to eat.

By this point, Tempest had already finished her more meagre serving, and if her sisters hadn’t already they soon would.

Her choice was much less grand in scope: three identical (and now empty) plates of mild chilli with rice. Perhaps she just wasn’t the adventurous sort when it came to food.

Normally Aegis wasn’t really one to concern herself too much with the eating choices of her comrades.

Some indulged in the most luxurious of foods, readily available with the marvel of food replicator technology. Others preferred more simple fare, finding enjoyment in simplicity and the comfort of their favorite food.

But with Tempest’s choice being unusually simple, one couldn’t help but notice. Was she feeling down for some reason?

Though they’d only met the previous day, Aegis already considered Tempest a cherished friend. If something even affected her appetite, the Titan felt obligated to help Tempest through it.

Well, and enlist her sisters’ help along the way.

Finally, after 11 plates of food were eaten clean, Aegis stacked them neatly and had the antigrav drones carry them away for recycling.

“Mmh…those were good.” Aegis remarked with a contented sigh.

A Gummi Shipgirl

“It’s one of them.” replied the crew leader as they headed for one of the nearby doors. “Well, see you around.”

The crew soon disembarked from the corvette, heading elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Firelance’s guide was a single officer, a Cardassian Lieutenant Commander. She nodded to the Gummi shipgirl as she approached.

“Welcome to Starbase Zephyr, miss Firelance. I’m to take you to Engineering for review.”

The Firelance nods, blushing a little as she continues heading out that way. It was probably gonna be faster than stumbling around for an exit anyways.

”Okay!” Firelance replies. “What kind of review?” she asks, ready to follow her with a spring in her step.

“Your manifestation, yes.” Halcyon nodded in understanding, before adopting a thoughtful look.

“Strange that you’d appear above the Bouzac homeworld instead of wherever the League is based, but stranger things have happened.”

Briefly sending off the Cardassian who’d brought her here, Halcyon took Firelance over to one of the many diagnostic bays. “Right, I’m going to take a short overview scan of you, if you don’t mind. Standard stuff, a bit of antigrav too. Just step into this little chamber here.”

Halcyon gestured towards said chamber, a largely transparent cylinder, which slid around to reveal an opening for one to enter.

“Well, I remember that’s where I was… destroyed,” the Firelance says, her demeanor souring. “…I hope my former crew is doing okay down there.”

She shakes her head as if trying to shake those thoughts away, but it’s clear it’s still bothering her. “Of course,” she says, stepping into the chamber and trying to hide her worries.

The cylindrical diagnostic bay sealed itself, and the built-in sensor array hummed to life.

“Well, you certainly are a strange one, Firelance.” Halcyon remarked. “You’ve got arcanotech alright. Exotic type too, all throughout your structure. These the Gummi Blocks you mentioned?”

“Yes,” Firelance replies, “They’re highly modular, capable of being reconfigured in many different ways. It’s why I have the two tractor beams, for on-the-go reconfiguration.” Sure enough, those would show up on her sensors, and notably they were hybridized tech. Things like the replicators and simulation room were also hybridized as well.

“Interesting…” Halcyon continued noting to herself. “Seems that tech exchange paid off fairly well. Alright, Firelance, you’ll be experiencing zero-G for a bit. If you can, try to bring your rigging out.”

From the reports the corvette crew had made, it seemed like Firelance’s flight capabilities were a bit on the slow side. Then again, it would be hard to know exactly how she fast she could go for sure until she was either out in space or in a holodeck simulation.

“Zero-G in 3…2…1…mark.” With that, Halcyon tapped a control on one of the holoscreens, causing gravity to cut out within the diagnostic bay’s cylinder.

Amarillo née Yellow nodded, looking to her new comrades.

“Yes, let us begin.”

A thought about possibly further upgrading her gear occurred to her, but Yellow filed it away for later.

Only her hidden shuttle had what she needed for making a basic vehicle foundry. Perhaps once this initial quest was over, then.

Thrud nodded as the party approached the quest board.  There were a number of quests available, including some that required a party to do it.  Thrud seemed to be the party leader (likely owing to her status as the tank), but before she picked a quest, she decided to ask her party what they wanted to do.  “There’s a band of monsters roaming close to town,” she mentioned.  “We could wipe them out, but there’s also a higher-profile job to escort some civilians across open ground until they reach the next town and attune themselves to the Warp Crystal over there…”

It would have been the easier choice to choose eliminating the monsters, but since they were practically everywhere just going in and wiping them out wasn’t going to achieve much.

No, it made more sense to protect the civilians. Monsters could be dealt with at any time. But the civilians needed their help more or less now.

Yellow raised her hand slightly to gain Thrud’s attention. “I vote for escorting the civilians. Others might be able to deal with those monsters. If they happen to cross our path, we could deal with the monsters too.”

“I’m not sure what that spell is, but I’ll assume from your words that it’s some form of group coordinator.” Yellow replied, now somewhat curious about the magic the people here used.

But that would be a question for a later time. She hadn’t told them everything yet about what she could do. Or more accurately, what she could do with her upgraded Valkyrie suit on.

“Anyway, aside from what I can do on my own, this suit also has a variant of wide-area shield generators, as well as kinetic and stasis field projectors. If we’re ambushed for some reason, I can slow down enemies, move objects tactically and protect all of us at the same time.”

“Sounds like you’ve got quite the array of support skills,” Thrud mentioned.  “Excellent! This’ll make our quests considerably easier to accomplish.  Now then, shall we begin our first quest together?”

Amarillo née Yellow nodded, looking to her new comrades.

“Yes, let us begin.”
