Scathach didn’t actually have a very large role in the original Ulster cycle, and as a result a lot of what’s there in Fate is completely original content (not that Fate ever shied away from doing whatever the hell they want with mythology). The base points – her being Cu’s teacher and ruling the Land of Shadows – are still there, but they’re stretched and expanded upon to make into a fully fledged character that fits into the existing narrative.
