Platinum thought over this briefly.

There was only enough room on that elevator for Link, herself and…one more person.

Which meant if she was to go down there, two of her fellow archaeologists would have to remain here.

“Mea, Surin, you two will have to stay here. Quentin and I will head down with Link.”

The two women she’d spoken to nodded in acknowledgment, the sole male beside her looking to that elevator with some mild curiosity.

With all that said and done, Platinum and her companion followed Link into the elevator.

Once inside, there was a strange device in the center of the room, what looked like a terminal at the far end barring further passage, and some panels covering some writing.  A voice echoed across the tomb.

“To you who set foot in this shrine…I am Valoh Ramah.  In the name of the Goddess Hylia, I offer this trial.”  It was clear that this area was a puzzle that needed to be cleared.

Link decided to approach the strange contraption in the center of the room.  “Maybe this apparatus can give us a clue…” he thought aloud, activating the apparatus.  When he manipulated it, some of the panels moved.  “Can any of you guys translate ancient Hylian?”

“One moment…” Platinum said as she moved to have a closer look at the inscribed panels.

“Sebastian, pull up Initiative records of ancient Hylian script. Is our translation base updated?”

Her AI took a moment to scan what she was seeing, and less than that to make a translation as best he could.

“Translation done, Admiral.”

Platinum hummed as she looked at the panels again, now seeing their translated words. A few idle taps of her omni-tool synced the data to Link’s slate.

While Link pored over the translations, the Fleet Admiral pondered the context behind the disjointed words she was seeing.

“Slumber…guardian…domain…remain. Interesting…” Platinum murmured.

“I see. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, sir Link.” Platinum replied with a serene smile.

If entering this shrine required his help, they were willing to let him provide it. From his tone and words, Link seemed to have gone through several of these shrines already.

If ancient Earth history and pre-unification popular culture was anything to go by, ancient ruins like these were bound to have a multitude of traps and defenses. Better that they let his experience do the talking, in this case.

“If that is the case, then we shall let you lead the way.”

Link nodded, pulling out his Sheikah Slate and holding it up to the pedestal next to the shrine itself.  The pattern at the front of the shrine turned a bright, glowing blue and the shrine itself opened up, revealing a small elevator to go down into the shrine itself.  They’d have to take the elevator down into the shrine, and there may not have been enough room on there for all of them…

It wasn’t often that Fleet Admiral Platinum got to be part of an active archaeological investigation.

But the idea of exploring some ruins and ancient structures had always fascinated her since her childhood days. Who was she to refuse this priceless opportunity?

Besides, if the initial scans were accurate, this reality’s Hyrule had similar relics to the Bouzac one. Studying these was thus deemed crucial to the Initiative’s burgeoning arcanotech program.

The arrival of the strangely familiar warrior was a surprise to her and the accompanying archaeological team.

Platinum’s personal AI, Sebastian, pinged her internally upon recognizing the new arrival. “My lady, this person matches common Bouzac and Empire records of the individual known as Link. Estimate likely for peaceful intentions.”

Platinum agreed. Best not to disrespect or accidentally aggravate the legendary warrior, after all. As the three archaeologists behind looked to her questioningly, the Fleet Admiral gestured for them to let her handle this.

Activating her integrated Universal Translator, Platinum greeted the hero with a brief curtsy. Or at least, the best of one she could make with her Admiralty longcoat, anyway.

“Greetings. We are explorers, studying this ancient structure. We mean you no harm. Who might you be?”

It was always best to confirm if this person truly was who they thought him to be. Mistaken identities were a hassle to deal with.

Well, at least they weren’t trying to murder him yet.  Link suspected they did know who he was, but he decided to answer the question anyways.  “My name is Link,” he replied.  “If you want to get into that Shrine, you’ll need my help.”

Link was riding the Master Cycle Zero around Hyrule, searching for Shrines to conquer.  Beating those challenges, getting those Spirit Orbs, they were all vital to his quest to defeat Calamity Ganon.

Eventually, Link heard the distinct beeping of his Sheikah Sensor indicating a shrine was nearby.  Gunning the engines of his Master Cycle Zero, Link arrived at the shrine, only to find other people there with funny outfits.  One of them looked like a noble of some kind, and they were clearly trying to access the shrine itself.  Something that Link remembered that Zelda tried to do once, but failed.

Link decided to approach this strange group, unsure of who they were or if they could be trusted, but he knew they could only access the shrine if he helped them.  His approach had probably been heard since motorcycles are not very stealthy vehicles, but he wanted to see who these people were before they ran off.  “Hey,” he said to the noble-looking person.  “Who are you?”

Isabella would walk outside with her Cleric, informing the other Templars of their current situation. Though she also stood by, waiting for Astrid to send over what ever device she had in store. As for Shlaereen, she just went off on her own, wanting to get some sort of stress relief done before they charged into this demon horde. If Adam would allow it, she would like to take pot shots at his servants.

@saviorgoddessastrid

Once Isabella got outside, Astrid said, “Alright, time to deploy the thing I’ve been working on!” After that, a beam of light appeared in front of Isabella, and when it was finished dissipating, there was a golden mech present, etched with many holy runes.  One arm was a gun, and it was clearly infused heavily with holy energy.  “Here, you can use this to smite those demons en masse.  I’m sure you’ll have fun with it! Oh, and make sure to burn them to ashes for me, will you?”

Adam certainly didn’t seem to object to Shlaereen shooting his servants.  He actually seemed amused at watching this angel simply relieve stress via shooting people.  “My, my, you’re certainly enjoying yourself,” he commented.  “Glad to see that you’re having fun.”

@phazonhuntress

Nora gazes nonchalantly at the golden mech, silently impressed, but far too irritated by the current scenario to comment on it, outside a small glance at Astrid. There was no other way of saying it, she had become more bloodthirsty, at least as far as the demons were concerned. shooting an annoyed glance at Adam

“No concern for your own, Adam? it seems you’re even weaker than I thought. Joseph, are you in position yet? I can give you that frequency now, and begin transporting reinforcements to your position”

@spartan-joe371

“Gonna have to give ya a negative on that assassination order,” Joe replied to Red.  “Fort is packed with demons, I can’t get close enough to assassinate him quietly, and even if I could, that’d only net us one of these things.  We’ll have to hit ‘em hard and fast to take as many forts as we can before the enemy can mount a sufficient counter-attack.”

Sure, Joe could snipe the demon powering this fort’s portals, but that wouldn’t be helpful long-term, there were many forts and too many enemies to eliminate.  They’d have to act quickly to kill as many as possible and take forts in rapid succession before a counter-attack could be mustered against them…

@fleet-admiral-red

He took the news in stride, but silently mulled their remaining options.

With Joe’s tactical suggestions amounting to a high-tempo blitzkrieg offensive, that was still going to be hard to pull off without suffering some casualties of their own.

And this being Hell, Red did not want to lose any of his current allies to this desolate soulscape. Sure, Green could flatten entire hordes with a single slam of his gravitic war hammer, but even he knew when not to take unnecessary chances.

Undoubtedly, Ruler wouldn’t even be scratched by the demonic hordes, but she had to remain as the group’s damage mitigator.

And losing any more of the Templars’ forces than they already had was something he deemed unacceptable.
