Going over the Summoner’s request as he worked and tweaked the blueprint of his gunblade, Red soon nodded.
“While I can’t guarantee anything spectacular, I can pull off something of this sort. I won’t lie, it’s not going to be the most efficient of processes. And I’ll need a certain type of nanoscale arcanotech foundry to actually enable the process itself, which will take Lux about half a day once she sets up the basics of this place being fortified.”
Doubtlessly, some of the terms he used might have flown over the Summoner’s head, so Red tried to summarize it as best he could.
“In short, I’ll need time and some raw materials, preferably crystalline in nature. Doesn’t have to be refined or rare, even salt or sugar crystals will do as conversion feedstock.”
The Summoner nodded. “Works for me,” he replied. “I’ll be sure to get you the materials you require. I’ll also grab some spare tomes for the conversion process. I doubt it’ll really be anything incredible, but if it hurts, it works in my books. All we need is it to be functional, nothing truly incredible.”
“Alright.” Red replied with a nod as he went back to his work.
Compared to the crude methods of old, creating a melee weapon with a nanoforge was much more precise and efficient.
By the time Red had finished the final product and backed up the blueprints and records, it had already been a few hours later.
Lux was busy building the technological base for the nano-arcanotech foundry, and as the cheerful AI worked Red practiced the use of his creation.
The gunblade worked flawlessly, railgun slugs hitting their targets with pinpoint accuracy. Likewise, the blade cleaved through even the replica of GDI composite armor he’d managed to fabricate.
